I like crunchy leaves. I love stepping on them. I will go out of my way to crush a dry leaf, even if I have to hop of out of walk, just to feel that crunch under my shoe and listen to the dry crunchy sound.
The best leaf to do this job are the kind that have folded into itself to form an almost ball like structure on the ground. Those are the crunchiest of them all. Sometimes, you get those fakers, you know the ones that look dry and crunchy but produce nothing but a shameful quiet sound under your step. Those deceitful leaves.
